On Thursday February 4th the International Medical Assistance Team 3 will be deploying to the Port Au Prince area to provide medical aid to the victims of the January 10, 2010 earthquake. The team is made up of a paramedic, and 2 E.M.T.’s from Clallam County Fire District #3. They will meet up with 5 R.N.s from the greater Seattle area and depart for Florida Thursday afternoon. Fire District 3 crews were dispatched to a structure fire shortly after midnight Sunday at 505 Holgerston Road, in Sequim. Single Engine Plane Crash in Carlsborg

Clallam Fire District 3 crews were dispatched to a single engine light aircraft crash at 2:15 P.M., Friday, January 8, 2010. The plane was under power when it crashed in a field near 5612 Old Olympic Highway.
Upon arrival, responding units discovered the aircraft nose down in a freshly cultivated field. There was no fire or explosion associated with this incident.

Clallam County Fire District 3 was dispatched at 1:30 P.M., December 27, 2009 to a single family house fire located at 2161 Woodcock Road. Upon arrival, fire crews found smoke and flames visible from the kitchen window on the 1200 square foot single story home. Smoke was also coming from the eves, above the kitchen area.
A firefighter from Seattle was passing by the residence, saw smoke and flames and knocked on the front door to alert any possible occupants but there was no response from inside the house.

Fire District took delivery of the new live Fire Burn Trailer/Box on
December 16th, This container will be used in conjunction with a similar
looking trailer that will be used as an approach box or room. We can set
them up in multiple configurations. This allows our firefighters to have live
fire training using natural wood products. Thanks to the efforts of Chief
Andrews this will be a great training tool.

District Assistant Chief Medical/Safety Officer Allen Knobbs will be
retiring on December 31st 2009. Al Knobbs joined the Fire District on June
1st 1978 as a Volunteer Firefighter/EMT- serving in that capacity for his first
12 years. On January 1st 1990 he was hired by the District as a full time
Career Paramedic Firefighter serving in that capacity until being promoted
to “C” shift Captain on February 1st 1997. On May 1, 2001 Captain Knobbs

At the last Commissioner Meeting held on December 15, the Commissioners
have approved the re-organization of Chief Officers in regards to the
Districts Organization Chain of Command Chart. As of January 1, 2010 the
District will eliminate the position of Assistant Chief of EMS/Safety when
Allan Knobbs retires. That position will be reclassified to a Medical/Safety
Officer of rank yet to be determined. The Commissioners and District
Chief have replaced the EMS/Safety Chief position with a Logistics/IT
Chief who will assist in planning and directing the operations and activities
of the District, responsible for procurement, testing, tracking, maintenance,
and general management of all District assets and property, and who …
