Responds to House Fire

Sequim, Washington


On Saturday, May 8 at 4:00pm, Clallam County Fire District 3 was dispatched to a house fire located at 277 Pierson Road, east of Sequim. No one was home at the time the fire was reported to 911 operators by neighbor, Chuck Fink who saw flames coming from the residence,


Assistant Chief Ben Andrews and an Aid Car with two firefighters arrived quickly to discover a 1,440 Square foot, 2 story single family residence 75% involved with smoke and flames visible from several windows. When the first engine arrived from Sequim, firefighters began to fight the flames using a transitional attack from outside the building before moving to offensive interior suppression efforts.


According to Assistant Chief Andrews, the contents and much of the interior of the home were heavily damaged or destroyed by fire and high heat.


The fire displaced Bill Stoller,and members of his family including his daughter Kelly Morrison, Katherine Hargiet and 5 children who were residing at the home.


Red Cross representatives were called to assist the family with housing, clothing and personal items.


Fire District 3 response included three Engines, an Aid Car, a Water Tender, 2 Assistant Chiefs and a Public Information Officer in addition to Clallam County Sheriff’s Deputies and an Olympic Ambulance.
