District Assistant Chief Medical/Safety Officer Allen Knobbs will be
retiring on December 31st 2009. Al Knobbs joined the Fire District on June
1st 1978 as a Volunteer Firefighter/EMT- serving in that capacity for his first
12 years. On January 1st 1990 he was hired by the District as a full time
Career Paramedic Firefighter serving in that capacity until being promoted
to “C” shift Captain on February 1st 1997. On May 1, 2001 Captain Knobbs
came to the light when he was promoted to Assistant Chief of the Medical
Safety Division of Fire District #3. This coming year Al Knobbs plans to
build a one story home, and spend his time at home being a trophy husband
(if you don’t know what Trophy means; he says it’s like those trophy wives
on TV but a macho male version). He wants to take a Master Gardener
class! but doesn’t have time to take care of a garden?????????????? We will
miss you Al. The Fire District will need to find someone to replace your
professionalism, smiling face and positive attitude.
